Tree of Life on Flickr.
The life of the spirit extends all around us, binding together what seems to be a separate, confused loneliness into joyous union.
When we see the union, we feel the joy, though our thoughts tend to obscure this with their local, fleeting concerns.

In this tree, the kami, or god/spirit of the shrine, is held to reside. It is probably centuries old.
Like other photos here, some of you may have seen the Instagram version, which is of course cropped to fit the 1x1 format there. This is the original.

Zen Garden
Whilst Japan’s Samurai warriors have faded away, these delicate gardens are peacefully tended, year after year.
By being vulnerable, they are always reborn.
By yielding to all, they are infinitely strong. Love’s power is stronger than anything else. Truly the meek inherit the Earth.
